Details
Vienna, 1922: Peter Berg, a former judicial police officer, returns to his native city of Vienna after seven years in a Russian prisoner of war camp. The Austro-Hungarian Empire, for which he had joined the army, no longer exists. He feels like a stranger in the very young republic characterized by revolution, democracy and an atmosphere of innovation against the background of latent fascism, hunger and unemployment. He gets lost in a derailing society and decides to look for his wife who has left Vienna in order to embrace his daughter.
