In a provincial town, Marc meets Sylvie when he misses the train to return to Paris.They stroll through the streets until morning, talking about everything except themselves, in an odd agreement, as though choreographed. When Marc catches the first train, he arranges to meet Sylvie in Paris in a few days' time. So, they know nothing about one another, and it's much more than a game, it's just the way it is. Sylvie will go to their arranged meeting, but Marc, by misfortune, doesn't. He goes looking for her and finds someone else, Sophie, without knowing that she is Sylvie's sister. Marc and Sylvie find each other again, but their unusual agreement has gone, it's too late...
